‘While Dawn of the Planet of the Apes may be getting all the attention, let’s not forget the original. First released in 1968, many may have been put off by the silliness of its visuals; the apes were clearly actors in fake-looking rubber costumes that would be great for Halloween, but not so much for a box office science fiction movie.’
